The Sustainable Mobility for All (SuM4All) initiative was born following a call for action from the President of the World Bank at the Climate Action Summit 2016, which was welcomed by the Secretary General of the UN. The call asked for accelerated efforts to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and transform the transport sector, through a new unified strategic global initiative.

SuM4All is a multi-stakeholder partnership that speaks with one voice and acts collectively to help transform the transport sector.  The Consortium currently consists of over 50 leading transport organisations, among them Multilateral Development Banks, UN Agencies/Programmes/Regional Commissions, Bilateral Donor Organisations, Global Civil Society Organisations and Academic Institutions. The ambition is to make mobility Equitable, Efficient, Safe and Clean and to redefine the global mobility agenda through Advocacy, Action and Financing.

Sum4All has already produced The Global Mobility Report, the first ever assessment of the transport sector, covering all transport modes and tracking the progress towards sustainable mobility around the world in four areas: universal access, efficiency, safety and green mobility.
